In this post we are going to show how you can easily change the cells on a Ryobi 20V 1.5Ah Battery.

Ryobi 20V ready to rebuilt

The case of the battery is secured by torx screws size T10 (with hole).

Which torx to use in a ryobi 20v battery

The battery has a cap on one of the screws that works as warranty seal. Removing it will break any active warranty.

Replace the old cells with new BAK N18650-COP ones. With this upgrade the battery will have increased capacity, 2.5Ah from 1.5Ah and more power, with COP's ability to reach 30A maximum discharge rates.

Place everything back in to the case and the end result is a new battery that cost less than $50 and has more capacity and power even from a new Ryobi battery.
